Thanks For Exceeding The Expectation!

When I was going to college, I worked part time at a local music venue to make ends meet. It blew my weekends, and usually Friday nights, but it was fun. I made minimum wage, but the tradeoff was that I got to see and hear all the hottest bands for free (well, actually I got paid minimum wage to see them). The summer series would end, and I would go back to school.

Then, in December, I would receive a holiday greeting card from the company that handled the venue’s human resources. The card said how great and valuable I was, and how much they wanted me back next year. Although the card was ordered, filled out, and mailed by someone who didn’t know me or my work ethic, it really made me feel great. I always looked forward for that silly card!

They exceeded my expectation. I never expected a company that employs hundreds of temporary employees to send me a thank you card for doing my job, but they did!
